Welcoming Committee

Members

As its name states, the Welcoming Committee was formed to welcome residents new to Island Creek. Sequoia Management keeps the committee informed of new residents moving into the community. The committee then personally visits the newcomers, offering a small gift bag and a portfolio of information about Island Creek and the local area in general.

The committee operates on an informal basis combining volunteer and social activities. We currently meet on a bi-monthly basis on the first Saturday of the month at 10:00 AM. The meetings typically consist of assembling the materials to be given to the new residents and then making the home visits. The time spent on these activities varies depending on the number of folks we plan to visit but, generally speaking, we plan on 1 – 2 hours. Of course, all of this work builds up an appetite – we usually go out to lunch afterwards!
